Rebooting an iPod Touch

I upgraded my first gen iPod Touch to the 3.0 OS and it seems to noticeably slow down after a week or so of usage (Safari, Mail, Music, App Store, ...) Found the following How to Reboot an iPod Touch, which seems to help, for a few days at least.
  1. Hold the "Power" button until you see the "Slide To Power Off" slider.
  2. Let go of the "Power" button, and slide the slider.
  3. Wait until it turns off completely, press the "Power" button again to turn it back on.

Pre-Order OS Upgrades

In case you missed it, you can start pre-ordering Windows 7 upgrades today at half-off from retailers such as Amazon, which means you can get Win7 Home Premium Upgrade to boot Vista off your existing machine for $49.95. For WinXP users, you'll have to perform a clean install (so much for easily upgrading my Lenovo S10 netbook.)

For those who have bought a Mac since June 8, you can pre-order Snow Leopard for $9.95

If you have an existing Mac (which is the case for my main work machine), then you'll have to wait for normal Snow Leopard pre-ordering to become available, but you can subscribe to be notified.

Maven Repos and Nexus

I just recently setup a Nexus Open Source server as part of my day job to cache needed artifacts from external repos on a server inside our test lab. It was easy to setup and so far it's working great!
